Does anyone use luggage trackers and if you do what brand? How do the batteries hold up? Any other tips about them?

bobby7321If you have an iPhone go with Air Tags. I bought a pack when they first came out, a couple of years ago I think, and the batteries are still fine. I put them in everything now. Kid's backpacks, instrument cases, and luggage for sure. Saved me from major problems when my luggage didn't arrive in Rome this summer. It helped in a few ways but mainly told me no need to stick around, bags are still in Toronto... Then when they arrived I was able to talk my way into the holding area since I knew exactly where they were, instead of relying on calling some number that no one ever answers.

WR500They are great. We are using the apple tags and we have been through Jberg yesterday and into Moz today.
We tracked all pieces easily.
They work!
The apple tags have a standard 2032 battery, and last at least 12 months.
Wouldn’t leave without them from now on, especially travelling with firearms.

WoodhitsI use Apple AirTags and they work very well. Can't say whether they work in a metal case, I've only used them in pelicans and soft-sided bags. Always nice when you're boarding a JNB to HRE flight and you can see that your rifle and ammo are in the luggage hold.

Mark ClarkLufthansa doesn’t want them onboard.
Claim they are a fire hazard. More likely they don’t want customers telling them where their lost bags are.

MARK H. YOUNGWoJo,
Seems the Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag seems to float to the top. I'm considering getting some of these myself.

SaeedI use Apple air tags in both my rifle and ammo case.
Just arrived home in Dubai, and they always notified me when they are on the move.

WesheltonjI use them. Apple use AirTag, Google use Tile. The Apple product works great. And LH has reversed their ban on the devices when the FAA said there is no problem with them.

mel5141I use the TILE in gun case and Luggage, good results for multiple years. I just returned from Madrid last week and both gun case and bag were easily monitored on my Droid Phone. i change battery in all of them annually.... They have a low battery warning on the app.

SaeedRemember that they will only notify our if there is cell reception close by and someone with a phone.
As I said, I have one in each of my rifle case and ammo case, and they do work.

jdollarI’m betting there is cellphone reception and someone nearby in every commercial airport in the world.
