Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

I have been to Libreville several times but never out of town on any tourist trip. I think you might want to try the link below:

http://www.operation-loango.com/

and also try to contact Mistral Voyages, a company I have used for travel in the region which has always been competent for my needs.

A really puzzling question.

When looking at the differents ministers in Gabon there is none concerning hunting, it's fishing and forest only.

There is no outfitters in Gabon

There is only one gunsmith in the country.

The only adress I got is from Belgium : Henri MARTIN, 6A, rue du Pont - B 4180 HAMOIR BELGIQUE
TI 00.241.59.19.05 Mobile: 00.32.477.66.52.59. He doesn't answer the phone yet.

What I know is that the President of Gabon, Omar Bongo, is often lending his helicopter to friends for them to shoot illegally elephants and buffalos, mainly in parks. Note the elephant shooting is forbiden there, and no Cites handy.
Our former President, Giscard d'Estaing, was hunting a lot there in the past, legally.

IMHO, the hunting is close there, even though the website of the french PHs is quoting this country. gabon

No, there is no big game hunting in Gabon at this time. There are however several outfitters who promote fishing trips. There is of course still a lot of poaching.

Harald Wolf wrote in issue of safari times of about two years ago, something about an unsuccessful hunt in gabon.
Also I know the famous italian PH, Giorgio Grasselli, run a fishing operation there.

Mario,

I don't want to badmouth whoever, I don't intent to badmouth Harald Wolf (I am subscribing to Hatari times), but read my post again:

You may remove helicopter, or elephant or parks, but would remain illegally and Omar Bongo, oil tycoon.
