I hope Saeed will forgive me if I am overstepping an ethical boundary here, but I would like to inform any AR members who are civil engineers with road construction experience, or related fields, I have several job opportunities for them in Africa. Send me a personal message if you are interested. I am also looking for a National Park Planner for the Meru in Kenya.

As an Engineer working in the contruction field, slogging through the winter in Montana, planning on his first trip to Africa this summer I think this borders on cruel and unusual punishment....

Bad time of year to see offers like this...... Smiler

Big Grin Do you actually pay wages, or do these fine men pay you for the privilege? This isn't one of those missionary engineer positions is it? Wink

How is the licensing of these professionals handled in such an international setting?

Are U.S. state licenses recognized? How does this affect an engineer or a physician in your organization.

How about a goof who loves to talk and play and carouze all night and then sleep in most of the day before starting all over?

Just kidding but I have been thinking of spending a year doing any kind of work just to be there. I have a few different skills including construction and would be willing to do so for anyone willing to get me into something that will get me there.

I know where you all can go and get paid $12,700 per month, yes, that's PER MONTH on a one year or longer commitment to teach folks how to do things. Eeker

That's about $153,000 per year. Oh, all expenses paid (lodging, food, transportation) as well as vacation. You just need 5 years of experience doing what you do best.

Where, you ask is such a place and who is the employer?

It's for real but I will let you folks guess a bit. It should be an easy guess.

Even at double the pay, it still wouldn't be enough. As a co-worker who grew up in the hood told me, man, I could hook you up selling crack if you want a well paying dangerous job, and it's all tax free.

Ann,

This has been a remarkably mild winter in Wisconsin. I lived in Russia for some years and wasn't worried too much about the cold but I did worry about how my wife would find it. She seems to enjoy it as much as I do though the best effect has been on my little dog.

For a dog who lived his first 8 years in India, he has grown to like the snow so much that some friends on these forums who have seen him, call him a little polar bear.Smiler

Best wishes!
