Just received word that Simon Clode of Westley Richards died this morning.
Another empty chair around my campfire and the world a no better place for it.
Rest in Peace Simon.

Simon was the guiding hand at Westley Richards for the past 22 years.

Sad news.

Good grief. I corresponded with Simon a couple months ago about a few things, heck of a nice fellow.

Is his daughter still at WR? Wondering who would take the helm. Big shoes to fill.

Very unfortunate. I just had a mail discussion with Simon on Monday. We had become good friends over the years with him helping me acquire the Nice Army/Navy that Frostbit now has as well as pheasant shooting in Yorkshire, etc. His last written words were, Im in the hospital and feeling lousy. I did not know he was that close but I knew he had been battling cancer and had just gone through Chemo. WR is in good hands I feel with his partner the Sheik along with Trigger, Steve, and I am assuming Carena his involved daughter had gotten involved again after her childbirth. Just don't know until I talk to them but the world was certainly a better place with Simon in it. God rest his soul.

He was a very good guy and will be missed. I once bought one of his personal droplock doubles 470 which he used in Botswana from him. We had a very good time trying a few rifles at the old factory range. Very difficult to imagine WR without him.
