Uses for tanned cape buffalo leather
I'm looking to have some items made from my Buffalo backskin. Wallets, ammo carriers, belts, slings etc. Anyone know a good place to go for this?

Contact Dick Murray of Murray Custom Leather, he makes really nice belts, slings, ammo belts, rifle cases, etc. from your tanned leather or his. Not terribly expensive either. His number is 817-441-7480.

............That would be my suggestion as well! I have a soft rifle case made from Cape buffalo leather done by Murray along with a couple ammo slides and a custom rifle sling. All very well done!

TT Gunleather will make holsters, magazine pouches, probably knife cases, and belts with your leather: http://www.ttgunleather.com/index.html

Ryan Grizzle will also do the above and (like Tim Thurner of "TT") does a great job both in design, application and artistry: http://www.rgrizzleleather.com/

Russell Moccasins will make boots and shoes for you out of your hides: http://www.russellmoccasin.com/index.html

If your hide is still in Africa, TCI (Trophy Consultants Int'l - Meredith & Meredith) does excellent work: boots, wallets, guncases, etc. They are in Zim in Bulawayo. Google them and email or call Cuan.

How about just keeping it for what it is-displaying it as you would a zebra rug or on a chair or whatever. It may look nicer in a natural state. Why destroy it by using it as a tool of some sort.
