Its been 13 years since my last safari. And I am all set to go in July to South Africa with my twin boys age 13. Recalling from my last trip you only need to bring a couple sets of clothes because they do wash everyday but I was warned not to bring synthetic materials does that still apply? Well every thing my sons own is synthetic and has the UNDERARMOUR logo on it. Is that OK now? What about camo? If anyone has a good equipment list they would like to share please post it. I am counting the days until I am back in Africa If your parents didn't have any children chances are you won't either.

You won't have any problems with camo clothes in RSA. The concern about synthetic clothes is with the camp laundry staff using a hot iron on them. Make sure your PH tells the camp staff not to iron any of your clothes. Don't expect the camp staff to be able to distinguish between cotton and synthetic clothing. Tom Z NRA Life Member

Cotton is best but don't take anything that can't be ironed & make sure everything you wear IS properly ironed because bot fly lay their eggs in damp clothing & ironing kills the eggs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHPRz3P4PHc
