I have been fascinated by the leopard since I can remember as a kid. The first leopard I ever saw was a dead one shot by dad friend on a remote orchard / farm in the Yelagiri hills of South India. 1964 I think.

My dad told me stories of a leopard approaching (well hidden) a gang of workers returning from a forest edge back to the village and grabbing a dog and running through the line of people!

But this photo is a totally different aspect of the leopard. I have known them to catch peafowl, jungle fowl and even a squirrel.

But sandgrouse on the wing! Hard enough to hit one with shotgun. I thought that the caracal was the only one capable of this.

A cat, a tasy bird. Ok, I get it. If I was a leopard, I would eat them too. Great photo.

I have seen my cat do this........she actually stalked a flock of little birds on our lawn, I was sure the birds would spot the cat. I was amazed to see her jump in the air and knock one down to the ground as they all took off.

I watched my cat do it
Jumped straight in the air and grabbed blue bird in flight.
Absolutely incredible
