Both TGTS and WWS use horses in their Masaailand concessions to hunt the mountains. The horses are mainly used to transfer up the mountains where there are no roads and then one hunts on foot but they can also be addapted for plains game hunitng in the valley. No fly there so perfect for horseback hunting!

I found this photo on the web a few years ago. I can't remember the web site. Anyway, I think it's a neat photo.

When I wake up to get ready for work, I turn on the morning hunting shows on TV, have some coffee, and pray my eyes open sometime soon.

This morning, there was a safari on the tube, and the PH and his client were riding horses! Sure looked neat. I kept thinking about the horses getting bitten by snakes, though. Anyway, the horses provided mobility and a fairly silent approach. Pretty neat. Sure got my attention.

Are there many folks in Africa who run hunting operations using horses?
