In looking at the online catalog i see this rifle in 416 remington and 458 winchester magnum both sport a 24" barrel and weigh in at 8.8 . Why do there custom shop rifles weigh 9.4 and why does the custom shop 458 have only a 22" barrel I am strongly looking at the M70 classic safari express in 416 which has the pre 64 action. Thanks Tanoose

I have the 416's in stock at $1,050. They are the Safari Classics and not from the custom shop.

The custom gun weight more as it normally has extra round(s) magazine capacity with a bulkier stock design, sometimes a 1/4 or 3/4 ramp rear site with an express site. The shorter barrel was probably just a one off design as a "ph/guide" gun. they often prefer shorter barrels for added manouvrability (sp).
