I'm into the 90 day countdown now.. I'm fondling my 416, repeatedly watching Buzz's Essence of Elephant hunting video and have already repacked my gear 5 times...

Happens every time :-)

I don't think that you'll ever lose that excitement. I am the same way, even at
my senior age!
Looking forward to your hunt report already!

Best regards, D. Nelson

October 11 - 22 in Makuti with Terry Fenn for Tuskless.. I'm booked for one, but you never know - there still be quota left by mid-October..:-)

I was actually kinda worried up until about three weeks ago - I broke my left leg right at the ankle on Dec 4th - all of it..... Nothing seven titanium screws and a plate couldn't fix, but it seemed like recovery was really slow - getting the strength back in it now. I'm gonna have to be careful and that is rough country but I'm determined :-)

Just got off the bowflex, tomorrow is treadmill... groundhog day for the next 3 months and I'll be ready!

Nice! I'm glad your leg is getting better. As they say, a tuskless hunt can be "one shot and run like hell"! I'll be hunting tuskless in Sengwa Research Area beginning September 5th. And yup, I'm already packed and could leave with an hour's notice.

Scott:

Good luck and take it easy on that ankle. Don't want to twist it. Get a stiff ankeled boot to help support it and you should do fine.

Make sure to share some pics and the hunt with us once it's done.

Thanks Guys!

I am really looking forward to it!!

I will probably forgo my usual Courtneys for a pair of Meindl boots - better ankle support (but noisy)

I watched a youtube video last nite on how they wrap athlete's ankles before a game - Holy Toledo is that an involved process!!

I'm going to take along some supplies to tape it but I hope I don't have to...
