Ok - I am trying to decide where to go for buffalo. I have hunted RSA and Namibia several time and now am ready to fulfill my dreams of hunting "Where Lions Roar" :-)

I have spoken to alot outfitters, done a great deal of research and read many hunt reports here on AR and I am still not sure. How does buff hunting in Moz differ that Zim? I am a walker - track and stalk.. I'm not really into the Argo ride thru the swamp to find a herd.. My PH I have hunted in RSA several times with recommends Moz - specifically Coutada 14 while I am drawn to Dande and CMS, especially since I can hunt tuskless at the same time..

Opinions?

Thanks!!

how much do you want to spend? in general comparable buff hunts in Moz will be at least 50% more expensive.

Mozambique offers the added opportunity of Blue Duiker, Suni, and plentiful Sable. But if Buff is primary, and a Tuskless interests you, then Zim is probably the best bet for your dollar; CMS, Martin Peters, others.

Actually - the cost of Moz is a serious consideration.. I can hunt buff & tuskless in Zim for what a buff and a couple of duikers cost in Moz. The fees and charter costs add up quickly...

Sounds to me like you already know the answer. CMS is the way to go on this deal. 100%

+1 for CMS in Dande. A good option for a traditional tracking hunt for buffalo.

I haven't hunted Moz yet but have a hunt booked with Kambako in August 2013 for Buff. I have hunted Zim several times including with CMS and am booked to go back with them also.

I can vouch for the added expense of hunting Moz but it is a place I wanted to experience.

You will have the time of your life hunting with CMS in Dande for Buff and Tuskless. It's a great place to hunt and you will not find a better outfit to hunt with. The CMS guys are top shelf!

And you probably will hear "lions roar" in Dande!!

Just had a friend hunt Moz. It seems cheap at first but the added costs of Charters, rifle permits and bribing officials to get your guns through quickly make it an expensive trip.
And hunting in the swamps where my friend was is not fun.
Zim for sure. tu2

hi scott, coutada 14 has a policy of not using argos to gain access to the buffalo, hunting there is done on foot, leaving the vehicle behind and finding the buff. depending on the time of the year will depend on the level of the rivers u cross, its not all swamp land. contact nyati safaris limitada directly for prices for 2012, they are reasonable.
