The chill of the morning is gone and you are under a big tree enjoying the shade and wondering how it got so hot so quick. The cold beer and bushbuck sandwich taste like a prime rib and fine wine. Out of the 8 leopard baits you've hung 2 have been hit. One of the zebra quarters has a small female feeding, and one whole impala has been eaten by a big male. If it wasn't for the mopane flies buzzing in your ear and the tetse's trying to make a meal out of you, it seems like you could sit under the tree forever. Most of the game has disappeared, fleeing the sun for a shady nap spot. There's still an occasional zebra, or wildebest out, but you're looking for another impala to hang in place of the one that was eaten. Hopefully the old guy will come back and you can spend some of the night in a blind. Back up into the chair on top of the cruiser and away to find game. It seems like the sun is going to fix you to a medium rare condition when the small herd of pala's cross in front of you. Off the cruiser and lean into a tree. The small ram drops at the shot and you have more bait. By the time you get back to the tree in the dry river bed, and hang the pala, its to late to build a blind. Back to camp, the sun has gone down and the shower feels like its given you a new life. A sundowner in your hand and its wait till tomorrow. There's always tomorrow

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

Would you kindly keep your thoughts to yourself? It's bad enough being stuck in the office without having to endure such ravings.

Well, it's snowing here where I am at but, Butch's prose have encouraged me to think about pouring a sundowner tonight and pretending the snow is Kalahari dust or Zambezi River sand....

I'm guessing that the throating on you new 9.3 went well, Butch. You might have missed your calling as a writer.
