Ladies and Gentlemen,
A good friend of mine from South Africa called today to let me know he had three ele/buff combo hunts for 2005. I'm already booked with Buzz Charlton this year so I am passing these along if any of you have any interest in them.

14 Day Fully Inclusive Hunt in a 135,000 acre private reserve on the Kruger National Park border. Price is fully inclusive of the following:
All meals and accomodations
Services of PH, Trackers, skinners and field staff
All license and trophy fees for 1xTrophy Buffalo (40" very possible) 1xElephant Bull (ivory in the 35 to 40 lb. class)
TOTAL COST $28,500

Hippo can be added for trophy fee. 20 species of plains game in the area.
Includes transport of trophies to taxidermist or shipping agent.
One hour drive from Hoedspruit Airport.
No hidden costs.

I have personally hunted with the gentleman offering this hunt and can tell you he is ethical and believes in fair chase which is a question I know everyone raises when you mention DG and the RSA. I hunted buff with Brad in 2002 and had a great hunt. He builds custom big bore rifles and is really interesting to talk and discuss rifles and loads with around a campfire. He developed a proprietary round called the 585 African Express. Tony Makris and Wayne LaPierre hunted with Brad in 2001 and filmed a buff hunt with him in the RSA for Under Wild Skies Africa. Tony shot a 42 incher on camera and it was aired in 2002. If interested please e-mail Brad Rolston direct at rolston585ae@iafrica.com. Again, I am not an agent or making anything off the hunt, nor would I do this for anyone that would damage my credibility. This and Brad is the real deal.

500 Grains,
Check the body of the text of my post. Midway through you will see that I have hunted with Brad personally, as have Tony Makris of Wild Skies Africa and Wayne LaPierre of the NRA. I would not post the hunt if I didn't have personal experience hunting dangerous game with Brad. As I said before, he is ethical and fair chase oriented. I have hunted Africa 8 times in the last ten years, I would not recommend someone I haven't hunted with and had an excellent experience with. Alot of guys who have never hunted Africa post hubris on this site about things they have heard or read about but never experienced. That is not how I operate.

Dave,
I am hunting with Buzz in late June/early July in the Humani. I hunted a bull and cow elephant with Buzz last July in the Dande. We had a great time! Buzz told me you are headed to a great area in early May. Best of luck! Elephant hunting is an absolute blast! You are in for the experience of a lifetime.

bwanarwm,

I did not mean to accuse you of anything. Real fair chase non-tame DG hunting in RSA offered by an ethical outfit is hard to find.

500 Grains,
No offense taken, just the facts. I have hunted elephant and buffalo in Zimbabwe and you CAN find cheaper hunts. But I know Brad and I know whoever hunts with him will experience a real hunt and shoot solid trophies. I have paid less and gotten more and paid more and gotten less!
