My ph has a elephant permit in Tsholotsho near Wankie National Park. He says the end of June would be good and they guaruantee 50lbs plus for around $30,000 including daily fees for 18 days and trophy fee for elephant.
Or he has one permit for 50lb plus elephant on Kruger border at Crooks Corner or Gatche.
If you are interested he is still in the States today. 281-228-2533

T,

Are you sure your PH is guaranteeing a 50 lbs elephant?

Does one get his money back if no 50 pounder is found during these 18 days?

T,

I really wish him and whoever hunts with him the best of luck.

It is just that from my own experience, hunting on concession next to Wankie, finding a 50 pounder outside the park can be very difficult.

Also, the last time someone guaranteed a certain size elephant the results ended up being dealt with in court.

I agree with Saeed on this. I have always shied away from "Guaranteed" hunts. Often something is very fishy with the outfitter. Although in this case the Tsholotsho has some very big eles and I would think your safe for a good hunt but don't be disappointed if your ele only weighs 45 as they can be very hard to judge.

I hunted Jumbo in this area last year. There are some nice bulls there but as Saeed said finding them out of the park is difficult. while I was there the park was rebuilding the fence to include electric wire...they are tying to keep the Elephant in the park....Not sure if it will be successful but it could have a major impact on hunting that area until the fence is destroyed again. As saeed suggested be careful with a guaranteed hunt....sometimes they come back to haunt you.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! Anyone else? Pile on. Since this has turned into guaruanteed size hunting trips. I represent another company that guaruantees over 40 inch Cape Buffalo. This is in South Africas Timbavati, Klaserie and Umbabat APNR 300,000 acres with no boundary fence between Kruger Park. Big five and plains game.

i have to go along with some others. If i'm offered a guaranteed hunt, the only guarantee will be seeing how fast I can run away

It is probably the best place to get a big bull in Zim. If you can work out the "guarantee" details, and want a big elephant, it is the place.

I'm certainly not an elephant hunter, and it's been some time since I hunted there, but when I hunted Matetsi 6 we saw a lot of elephants and we weren't looking for them. On my 16-day hunt, and this is from memory and based on the PH's estimates of weight, we saw 8-10 over 50 lbs a side and of these a couple were over 60 pounds and one he estimated at 75+ lbs.

T.

You started your post by posting a guarateed 50 pounder. I brought it to your attention that guaranteeing any size elephant might not be a good idea, and would most likely lead to some sort of misunderstandings later on.
