From my Omay hunt in Zim. the smallest tusks I ever shot 10 and 11kgs each, they are funny looking, a pile of elephant skin, they were small elephants its been so long I cant remember how many I got the hide from, some I shot were PAC on that trip-so i wasnt allowed to keep all the hide, 3 impala skins and a set of hippo teeth. just under 4 years this time, well better late than never, I think i might have lost one shipment, but i'm not sure, that was my last hunt I kept anything from. I did hunt in may 06 but i had to stop the hunt cause of my back problems and havent hunted since. I remember shooting my last elephant like it was yesterday. One shot(frontal brain) no insurance shot(i know you should but i hit it real good) with a 450 Dakota I built up especially to hunt with in the Jess(now thats a rush, if you done it you know what I mean). elephant in the Jess is like playing with fire times 100 in a fire works store. or teasing them in there is worse(alan like that sometimes)-you know your alive and your heart is beating from adrenilin when your in the jess on your knees looking at elephant feet.. i dont come here much still, cause it makes me sad i cant hunt due to back problems, but next year i should be able to do a light elephant -hunt-thats my goal. i wanted to go this year but going to Reno something went wrong with my back on hte trip and it was a big set back, otherwise i may have made it this year. i will check in now and then, hello and my love to all my old friends here-brother Ron too , warmest regards eric petersen 1 shot= 1 elephant; anymore than that....go practice your shooting sorry about the spelling, I missed that class. | ||
