Anyone know how a USA citizen can get worldwide 3rd party hunting liability insurance? SCI say they don't offer this. I organise hunts in Poland (I'm UK based) and I have USA guys coming with me. The insurance included in their Poland Hunting License is VERY limited (only covers them against injuring Polish Nationals) but does not include cover against injuring non Polish nationals who will be shooting, for example. So local arrnagement will not work.

They won't be any help, mate. I need a USA contact to pass on to them or information from any USA hunter who has actual experience of arranging this.

ochayethenoo,

Welcome to the forum and this will sort you out: http://www.shakariconnection.c...ravel-insurance.html All the client has to do is click on the relevent banner to select the cover he wants and follow the instructions to sign up.

There's two companies advertising there. The Travel Guard one it tailored to US & Canadian hunters and the Medex one is tailored to hunters from the UK, Europe and the rest of the world. Cover is worldwide in both cases and they cand design whatever cover they want.

I can understand your problem trying to find cover (esp) from the UK. Political Correctness means as soon as you say the word hunting or shooting to an agent or insurance company, they run a mile!

Thanks for reply Steve. It's not quite as bad as that in the UK!! But insurance companies now appear to insure only folk in their country of origin or domicile. So insuring USA hunters in UK to hunt somewhere else in the world is increasingly difficult! I can get insurance for USA guys hunting in UK no problem...but outside UK is well nigh impossible. I've paased your reply on to my guys so hope they can get it fixed.

ochayethenoo,

A pleasure to help....I'm also a Brit, albeit an ex pat one..... where are you in the UK?

Regarding the insurance policy for UK hunters. We had to get that policy especially formulated a few years ago because at that time, it was impossible to get decent cover for Brit hunters coming to Africa.

I approached 5 separate insurance companies before I could get one to do it..... and only then after approaching the American company that owned them to give them a kick in the arse.

Bloody political correctness has gone mad over there nowadays!

Don't need the (expensive) medivac insurance.
It's the third party liability insurance which is being sought (many outfits including my own insist that all hunters have 3rd party liability insurance).
Any ideas of a provider?? Think the advertisers suggested earlier specialise in including a whole package which includes medivac and personal injury which is not what we are looking for.

If you want third party cover only, couldn't you just sign 'em up with BASC? who (at least in the old days) used to provide world wide third party (shooting) cover free of charge as part of the membership deal.

No good. I used to do this.
Now if a USA or overseas person joins BASC they are covered for hunting whilst in the UK only.
A UK member is covered temporarily whilst hunting overseas.

How about contacting the BASC insurers to ask them to put together a special package for you?

I'm sure their press bloke David would be happy to put you in touch with whoever they use.

I've gotta say, this type of cover is getting increasingly difficult to get nowadays because of political correctness!
