Most are definitely shooters. As usual, Saeed, you do take some really sharp and crisp pics. dancing dancing

Definitely some trophy bulls in that group, even by Tanzanian standards. Great photos. Thanks.

Ok for all of you ivory hunting fanatics out there. What do estimate the weight of the ivory in the second picture to be?

I am saying an honest 90lbs but I am not an elephant hunter of any regard.

What say you.

I'll venture a guess at 80lbs.

Saeed, I have to disagree with the title of this post. It shouldn't be just for elephant hunters to have a look. Those are beautiful photographs.

Job well done, brought back all my Africa memories as if I was there yesterday. Any chance of sending me the file that Bill captured for a blow-up and framing? Very much appreciated!

I am afraid I did not take these photos.

A friend of mine, who is a PH, gave them to me.

Saeed,

Your friend produces beautiful art.

I'm still trying to learn the ettiquette of AR so if this off-base let me apologise beforehand.

I think, based on my experience in selling my photos and judging others for publication, that your friend, the ph took these, could make some $$ if he offered prints for sale. Not a lot mind you (it is a rather bad rumor that we make piles of cash) but at least he could buy some more bullets.

The one that Bill cut and pasted into this thread is dynamic, emotional, and true to color. If he would be willing to sell prints I'm sure i'm not the only one who would purchase.

I would hazard to guess most of those pictures were taken near the Kenya border around Sinya and West Kili which is a continuation of the Amboseli Park ecosystem. Truly stunning place and those elephants are "park" animals in that they are very habituated to vehicles and people - but hate the Masaai as they get speared when they invade their shambas Cool

If I'm correct on the whereabouts, these ele's are not huntable by Tz law.

As to the weight of ivory on this ele, my guess would be around 58 lbs.
