Hi,
I´m off to Namibia on the 10:th, I´ll be hunting plainsgame, main objects are sprinbuck, eland and hartebeest.

I´ve used Safari Taxidermy in SA for my previous hunts and would like to use them again but there appears to be all sorts of paperwork involved in that -sounds complicated and expensive.

I´ll only be doing European mounts ands skins. Anyone know of a good taxidermist in Namibia?

I've used Reiser Taxidermy in Windhoek a couple times and have received very good service.

I can also recommend International Freightways Nambia (IFN) for your freight forwarding. Mr. Hufnagl has taken care of several shipments for me.

Another vote for Wilko at Reiser Taxidermy. Excellent service, prompt communication, nice prices (at least compared to US), and fine work. I can dig up the contact info if you're interested.

I also had very good results using Pam at International Air Cargo Services to handle the shipment. She and Wilko worked together to make sure everything was taken care of. Even with a 90-day quarantine trophies in the bush, I received my crate in 12 months.

We didn't have our work done in Namibia, but our safari with Boet Nel ended on June 24, and we received our trophies in Anchorage, Alaska on Sept. 30. Great turn around! Pam Foerster was the one that handled the shipping from Namibia.

The email link seems O.K. from my location (?).

If you plan to have only euro mounts done, I'd advise you to stay away from Manfred Gorn's "Trophaendientse", as his work will change your mind. Wink

Best I've seen out of Africa.

Trophaendientse has some very good looking work. There is another company "Nyati Wildlife Art" in Windhoek, not far from the Nakara tannery. the guys who started Nyati used to work at Trophaendientse.

I used Nyati Wildlife Art and they are very organized, detailed, clean, modern and keep you well informed. We were there at the end of May and my trophies have been shipped and should be at my taxidermist soon.

I did not have them mount anything, but the work I viewed in their facility, appeared first rate and as good as any seen here in the US. If I were to have mounts done there, I'd use them. Very nice and helpful people to deal with.
