SaeedWalter is the only person I know who had been bitten by one ofour crocs - one named after him, in fact!
Luckily, it was very small then.
We have Dorcas, Thomsons, Grants, impala, dik dik, scimitar horned oryx, Arabian oryx, mountain sheep, ostrichs, cheetahs, snakes, hedgehog, mountain fox, green iguanas and many different types of parrots and macaws

yukon deltaThat's a nice collection Saeed. Any "wish" animals on your list? I forgot about the dik diks. Any photos of those little guys? They are really neat but could be dangerous I would think...like a bushbuck.

This is fortunate a more mature croc could have taken a big enough bite to have been lethally poisoned!

You should take some good close up photo's (especially facial features) and put them in a study CD "book" for Taxidermists. Taxidermists (at least those that are Artists) are always looking for above average study material. Your in a position to provide this on CD-ROM. May not make Oprah's Book list, but it would be very beneficial to artists of all walks. Congrats on the additions!

They look almost delicate. What is their temperament? Are they aggressive, like their gemsbok cousins?

sevenmagltd.George, I agree with you on meat of the scimitar, it is great even on the old bulls. I have run an exotic game ranch for years and I love it when a guy takes a scimitar and hopefully leaves some of the meat for me. We started culling some cows last year and my son shot a 40" cow about 5 years old. The meat is right up there with eland.

The Arabian oryx male was not too happy of me getting close to them. As I had a small pocket camera and wanted to have some photoes of them.
He started lowering his head and then raising it - a normal sign of being uncomfortable.
I decided to leave, and get a camera with a longer lense.
For those into cameras, all the photoes above were taken with the new Nikon D3 digital camera and the Nikon 80-400 mm VR lense.

BUT where were you so lucky to get the Arabian & Scimitar from, are they from Saudi or if not AN other. Is it a complicated process to get hold of these wonderful species.
Any relavent information welcome

markhorsaeed have some hogdeers as ur countrys climate suits them,they may grow their horn over 20 inches as mine in pakistan not going over 19 inches,regards

The Scimitar horned oryx were from Saudia, and the Arabian oryx were from a private breeder in the UAE.
