So for it prints the following loads to the same POI at 50 and 100 yards....most in one hole at 50 yards....

1. 500 gr. Woodleigh soft or solids with 108 grs of IMR-4831 at 2245 FPS...This is the load that Butch used in my gun to win the big double rifle shoot in sacramento calif..Hope I get it back!!

2.500 gr. woodleigh soft or solid with 85 grs of RL-15 and 5 grains of dacron for one hole at 50 yards and 2020 FPS, that will probably be my Buffalo gun with solids..The recoil is sugnificantly less than the above IMR load..

3. 500 gr. lead bullet at about 1800 FPS with 45 grs. of XMP-5744 for one hole at 50 ydes...

Changing makes of bullets, as long as they are the same weight makes no difference in POI, nor does it matter which trigger I pull first, all print on....

It is just about the least finicky double I have ever owned, it will about shoot anything to the same POI and if you change bullet weights it may open up a tad but still within the tennis ball size group...Factoy fed is an inch low center, and I can live with that..in fact I just took a course bead and it was on the money....I am in love!! Now if I can just keep my grandsons horse from dieing I'll be OK...

I think I will keep this gun, if butch returns it to me!!

Ray, you may just as well kiss it good-bye. He'll just make up another one for you and probably keep this one since it's so accurate.

Maybe I missed the story behind this gun.

Tell me more about it. What caliber is it?

The real story is that Ray promised me the gun if I bought him a EAA in .45/70. Dang customs or something is holding up the rifles in Russia, though.

Ray:

I'll have you a "real" double DGR before long.. In the mean time, Butch sent the rifle directly to me.. hope you didn't mind! I'll make sure to send you a thank you card soon.

Boy, that Ray is really a great guy, ain't he folks!

Ray,

Were the lead projectile loads using the Ballisti-Cast #1431's I sent?

The reason I asked is that Butch listed the 45 grain load at 1400 fps ... and I got 1500 with 40 grains of XMR 5744 which also shot very close to POA even at 100 yards and the groups were great.

Ray, it sounds like a real "shooter"!

You forgot to mention.... What kind of scope do you have on it?
