The wife and I were just looking at her copy of the SCI magazine with Niki's article -- which came today. She had told us it was coming soon when we saw her in Reno.
As soon as I can pry the magazine away, I will read it. Or I guess I could go to the PO and get mine.

What sacrilege Nickudu, I thought she was supposed to be the gun bearer! On second thoughts, you may not want that. She may just give you an unloaded gun! peter.
I read it the other night and really enjoyed it! I was telling my youngest daughter (10) about the lady that shot the buffalos and the lion while having her daughter along. She really got upset because she wants to go to Africa with me but Mama say's "NO" !!! My daughter wants to read the article.....I just have to pry it out of some of my co-workers hands to get it to her.
Hey, I'm sure Nick is just like me, I'm the boss in my house (when my wife, kids, and dog aren't home) and I have the wife's permission to say so! - Dan

Niki is the real deal; when I first met her she was guiding for Gene Yap's South Point Safaris taking folks hunting on Hawaii's Big Island -- including taking pigs with a knife. In those days whe was building a .416 to take hunting. Lately (after Keith ) it is a .458.
It is a great story too.

I was struck by the realism in the article...the bugs, her concern for their daughter's safety, the ability for things to get out of hand quickly, etc. Very enjoyable read!
