Those are some nice animals. I dont know what else to say....

My only delima is....which pics do I put up in the office?

See you you soon.

Shawn

Howzit Shawn...

Thanks for the congrats! All I know is you got to talk with Uncle Geoff...I tell you this hunt is so doable...In fact Africa is the only place I WANT TO HUNT....I've been bitten by that same bug I guess everybody who hunts Africa gets bitten by...Its a no-brainer for the amount, type, and quality of animals one has the opportunity to shoot and the quality of the people and the true spirit of a great land!

You easily get the most bang for your buck in Africa and no pun intended...I know its your desire to hunt the world from here on out...Take it slow and easy but this place Uncle got is first-class all the way IMO...So perfect for the discriminating first-time African PG hunter! We never roughed it for a second but we were pampered every day and every night...Great place and great people and great game!!!

Hi Late-Bloomer,
Congratulations on such a wonderful hunt for both yourself and your son. Hunting as a Father / Son oufit is really great and is something you will both remember for the rest of your lives, I know, my son and I hunted Fallow Deer years ago, he is now married but we both remember those good times. You say that your son is shooting as good as you.... but he is better looking.... Just Joking... Cheers from Australia.

Chuck,

Genuine curiousity here - Is it cheaper for a non-resident to hunt AK when compared to Africa?

Pinotguy, It depends on what you want to hunt. For Dall sheep, Brown bear or Interior Griz, and Mountain Goat...NO!!! Africa's way cheaper. But if you want to hunt Moose, Caribou and Black bear, sitka Deer, then Yes, cheaper for Non-res. Dall sheep hunts I know are going up next year, according to some guides I know, the best time to hunt is now, without a doubt!! I know a few hunts have been cancelled due to fuel prices, AVgas is not cheap anymore...Hope this answers your question...P.M. Me anytime. To be honest with you the Military brought me up here...but the WHITE RAM will keep me here forever!!!!....I know Africa is addicting, but, Sheep hunting is an ADDICTION!!!!

Latebloomer,
My 24 y.o. son and I recently got back from RSA. It was the best experience of both our lives. It makes me smile to know that someone else is enjoying experiences like this. Great animals. Thanks for the report.

Hello Frederik,

My exact sentiments as well and I agree totally!

I do not have my finances in order yet, however I am already looking into and researching a hunt for 2010...

Blue Wildebeest and Black Wildebeest and a Cape Buffalo Hunt would be animals I would desire.

And a few days of taking photos with a larger lens than I had on this first trip...

I would like to amplify the level of excitement and adventure X 1000 this next time around...

The more I think about it my friend because of the Cape Buff, I need to think more about Zim...I'm sure I can hunt some beautiful trophy Wildebeest Bulls there instead...

Any ideas...I haven't gotten the chance to speak with Karl since I've been back...

PM me some ideas when you have some time please...

Aloha,

Ro

ROLAND! Howzit, Bro? Eric Field here - met you on your last day, had a few drinks with you, and you all got to see my Kudu in the riverbed. GREAT pics you took, my friend.

Rodney Hall is THE MAN for PHs - great to work with, and his father Tommy is just a great guy all around.

Glad to see you got home safe and happy. I'll have my hunt report and pics (and videos!) up this week once I get back to the States.

Quality operation here, folks - just simply amazing.

Congratulations to share an experience so wonderful with your child. I imagine the thrill of hunting as precious trophies with a big loved one. I think that Africa is magical and you catch anything else that you are there. I wish that you come back as soon as possible and that there like in this occasion to share their experiences in this forum. Many thanks and greetings from Spain.

Oscar.

Hi Gang...

I just wanted to thank you all for your replies and PM's that I've been receiving...

Your kindness and support has been overwhelming to say the least!

Many say that they've enjoyed my style of sharing well I would like to address this right here and now to all!

I am just a very grateful individual who has never expected to be so blessed to have the privilege to hunt Africa or anyplace for that matter...

As a late-Bloomer to this sport and hobby and one who had only picked up and used a firearm only 18 months ago...I have been tremendously FORTUNATE to enjoy this sport and its satisfaction and fulfillment in such a short time...

It was only 14 months ago I went on my first hunting trip to the Big Island of Hawaii with my son where we bagged 5 animals....2 Rams, 2 Goats, and 1 Pig [boar]...

Two months later we went again and had the same success and two months later the same success...

And the next thing we know the WIFEY says why don't you two kids go to AFRICA and that's all she wrote...

My hunting career has only begun whereas many of you as I understand have been doing this from small-kid time...I envy you all!

It will take me many years to experience the extreme joy that many of you have been experiencing for years...

Let my story renew your EXCITEMENT and level of PASSION and never take for granted all that life has put under your belts...for it is brothers like you in whom my true ENVY belongs!

Its individuals like you who keep me glued to this forum and motivate me to want to experience the adventure and its challenges...

I am what I am today, because of you who have shared your genuine love for this sport!

I am a NEW and GENUINE and PASSIONATE hunter who has been FORTUNATE in being successful on his first several trips and is looking for more!!!

Hunting is a beautiful thing that we all MUST cherish...

It is not just a RIGHT but moreso, it is a PRIVILEGE and that's what you hear when you hear me speak and share...

That's where the EXCITEMENT and PASSION is birthed from and in time it will mature and in time I too will become OBSESSED to the point where I must NEVER take any of this for granted; for if I succumb to my obsession I will have lost the true meaning of this incredible experience and its privilege and have become just a calloused person who goes and shoots stuff outside in the bushes!

May we all APPRECIATE the BEAUTY of it and LIVE IT!!!

God Bless you all and thank you for your righthand of fellowship!

I have enjoyed all the correspondence and its genuineness...

Til we meet again,

Aloha,

Ro
