I had to fly to Reno over the weekend for a business trip and had the pleasure of sitting next to an artist from Uganda. He had that very "ethnic" look of a native African (please, no racist comments...those of you who know what I'm talking about will understand)..anyway, in the lobby, I made a point of standing nearby and detected his accent and struck up a conversation.

We had a great conversation on the plane, and he had some really cool stories of growing up in Africa. Then he told me he was an artist, and did all his work in lead and pencil!

I told him I was on the BOD of the LA Chapter of SCI, and we'd love to have him come show hiw work, and share his stories. This was without even seeing his work....When I got home last night I logged onto his website and was stunned at his work. He's a very talented man. Some of his drawings look like black and white photographs. Check it out:

His stuff is really quite good. The lions, though, looked a bit cartoonish. Now, his best efforts seem to be drawing people. As he gets better and better, he'll really have folks notice his artwork.

Lead crystal, huh? That's some pricey stuff and after she's done her magic to them I don't doubt they'll be collector's items. She's very talented and a true artiste.
