There has been two more leopard maulings, Gareth Lecleuse with CMS and Johan Bezebenhout with HHK, no details on how badly mauled. Karl Evans

Bloody hell! I hope they are not too badly hurt! Sadly, this might point to bad shooting! Something which I find very hard to understand in leopard hunting off bait!

So sorry to hear! Prayers that both have a quick recovery. "The true test of a man's character is what he does when no one is watching". - John Wooden

Told one had seriously injured arm and the other badly mauled but not life threatening. Karl Evans

Terrible news. Hoping everyone mends quickly and fully. Were these separate maulings? or a collaborative effort?

The airplane transporting PH Gareth flew over us while chasing a ass-shot warthog in Dande that day. Hats off and best of luck. Reported a severe ripped arm. Next day report surgery ok and full recovery excpected. Leopard was gut shot and follow up was messy with some AK rounds fired and and cameraman shooting with other than Canon. A few inches off and the shit hits the fan. Glad it all got sorted out. Guess Gareth got some nice tales to tell

The actual mauling which foresees bites and scratches rarely produces critical injuries unless one of the main "pipelines" gets ruptured. Danger lurks if the wounds are not properly cleansed and copious doses of antibiotics are not administered to prevent infection. Nothing beats a 12 gauge or preferably 10 gauge shotgun for close-quarters.
