people , many many hunting areas in africa require a light aircraft charter ...its always a great time to look out of the window of the plane and contemplate the miles and miles of africa, what hunters dollars do to conserve them and how wild and remote the experience is that you are about to embark on ...its kind of a "little quiet" before the storm ... heres our view of mwanja camp on the zambezi last week ... from a PHs perspective ...also a great sight to see your truck safe and sound waiting at the strip "The greatest threat to our wildlife is the thought that someone else will save it” www.facebook.com/ivancartersafrica www.ivancarterwca.org www.ivancarter.com ivan@ivancarter.com

Great picture of the camp. You know you're close to home at that point. Look at the surroundings, and think of the work that went into your support. The airstrip has been buzzed, and the buffalo and zebra are gone. Cruisers are showing up to meet. Back in the Valley again, and ready to leave all the pressures of work behind for a little bit of Heaven.

A little bit of heaven is an understatement. I left the valley from chenje one year ago today. Thanks for the pics it brings back fond memories.

Those pics flying to camp can provide great memories to be memorailzed. I have a 5'X10' painting of camp at the mouth of the Sengwa river flowing into Lake Karibia. A client painted from a slide I took flying in to camp and her husband built the frame from African Mahogany.

Thanks Ivan. I was thrilled we got Al Shearing as a PH. If you're in the Valley between Aug 5-16 you must drop in for a sundowner! Mike ______________ DSC DRSS (again) SCI Life NRA Life Sables Life Mzuri IPHA "To be a Marine is enough."

Ivan, You guys really lead a charmed and easy life! The airstrip is right next to the camp, which spoils all the fun one has to go through once you land at the airstrip just after the sun has gone down. One is never sure that the pilot has good visibility to avoid over shooting or undershooting the runway. Then one has to endure a 5 hour, 50km drive on one of the most horrindous roads made for a 4 wheel drive, that makes walking 18 hours in Chete in November seems like a walk in the park! No wonder you look so happy on your videos

Larry, the place came before the picture. In my office (old house) I decided to remove a group of three windows whcih left a space to fill. I got the idea of putting a murual in the space instead of trying to match the wall panel. I ask a young client, the artist, if she would like to paint the picture using the print as her guide. Her husband, contractor, had some Mahogany left from another project. The frame was placed around the painting after it was hung. The whole project cost me about as much as purchaseing a mural in strips and the putting it all togeather. I have a few pieces of her work in my office, one being an 8"X 10" color pencil drawing of the big five with the African cont. behind them. I had that drawing digitized and it is embrodered on some jackets and my hunting shirts, sort of my personal logo oh yea on a couple of pairs of boots made by Loveless.

I've spent time with Nevin & my wife & I have tried to encourage him to write a book on his life, he just doesn't seem interested in it. I'd buy the first copy if I could. Very interesting gentleman & his wife Lindsey is a sweetheart herself. Damn, I wish I were in Zimbabwe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LORD, let my bullets go where my crosshairs show. Not all who wander are lost.
