So I am watching my brand new CD "Essence of Elephant Hunting" by Buzz Charleton. And of course I have my trusty .470 NE loaded with snap caps at my side.

In any case up to this point I've perfectly executed several virtual TV screen frontal and side brain shots with a few shoulders shots mixed in for good measure.

I am just getting ready to shoot a beautiful one tusked bull and just as he's about to clear cover and I am taking up juice on my front trigger. MJines goes and shoots him out from under me. He didn't even give me chance. Proving that Mike is a shot hog and generally a no good rotten so & so.

Wink

Great video guys and Mike does some wonderful shooting in it! Nice job Mike and Buzz! Cool

I saw the subject line and thought my wife was posting again. Thanks, you would be shocked to find out what I have to pay Buzz to just show the good shots.

I'm so glad you posted that. My wife had me just about convinced that shooting the double with snap caps at all my DVDs, everyday, all day, etc., is abnormal. I don't know how many times I've shot the animals in my trophy room, but it's more than the average I would think! Me and Mark Sullivan have sorted out a few buff also! hilbily

Oh I don't know I wear a pair of snap caps in about 6 months. There is nothing abnormal about that at all..Right?tu2

Mike,

Once again really nice shooting. Were you using the same rifle throughout the video? At one point it looked like you had a non Kreighoff in your hands?

You guys are JUST NOW coming around to this conclusion! Big Grin

Seriously Mike is a pretty decent fellow and a great guy to share a cold beverage and a hunting story or two with. He is quite an accomplished hunter!

My wife saw me doing the same on a Sunday afternoon watching Tracks Across Africa and freaked out,,,,I put up a large new HD Tv in the family room and she thought I was mad at the TV, or crazy, I guess I understand her surprise, I normally do my "shooting" exercise in my Man Cave/workshop/trophy room without her around but she did once see me take my laptop outside one day and light it up with my 45ACP Sig so she thought I was up to something crazy again....

Yep, I worry that before I can save enough money to hunt an elephant, Hunter Jines will shoot all the good ones in Zimbabwe.

To hell with Buzz's DVD, I would pay good money for a DVD, or better yet a live video feed, of folks sitting in their dens dry firing at the television while their wifes and kids are watching, wondering what's up with Dad. Big Grin

I'd put it on YouTube but I'm afraid this Oil Business will crash one day, and I'll have to find a new job! Cool

Sounds like a video project for Shootaway! wave

Heck, I taught my wife to shoot game by starting her dry firing at the deer outside the kitchen window.

I've got a good buddy who is a fairly well known gun writer and big time hunter who shall remain nameless at this time. Who was "dry" fire and bolt cycle practicing with his rifle. And then went to try out some new reloads for fit and function.

He'd been dry firing on an ibex head on his wall. Loaded his rifle with the reloads cycled the bolt and without thinking reflexively lined up pressed the trigger and BLAMMMO re-killed his Siberian Ibex mount! His wife was impressed. Big Grin

A thought does come to mind, that when some folk find themselves in front of buffs and 'phants, they will be looking for a couch to shoot from. Big Grin

This conjures up all kinds of bad thoughts Mike - but I'm sure that's not what you meant - you being a gentleman and all !!
