Commissioner Blessing Mphela on Thursday told a news conference at the Commission on the Restitution of Land Rights that the seizure was a last resort. South Africa must speed up land reform or face chaos, Mphela added.
This statement by will ring very true. He does not know what Chaos is, yet. When the land is handed over they will have more problems than they have ever imagined

"In South Africa, where dispossession of African people was much more brutal and thorough than any other in the region, the fruits of liberation have yet to be tasted by the majority of the rural population," Mphela said.

Having seen the results of the "rural population" taking over previously white owned farms, I can tell you that "the fruits of liberation" are going to taste rather earthy (as in "barren"). The simplistic view of the gov't doesn't acknowlege the fact that "owning a farm" and "knowing what to do with a farm" are two separate and distinct things.

"In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is King."

Perhaps you don't remember the story. Wasn't the sighted man diagnosed as having something abnormal? I think they wanted to put out his eyes when they discovered that he had something they didn't. I can see this mentality in many areas of the world today. Africa is not alone.

They cannot help themselves but take from the white farmer - and they know that as a white farmer in Southern Africa there is no one in the world who is going to back or help you - he is a weak target.

In Southern Africa, to be white is no longer right!!

This will probably get a lot of people upset, but I really believe that a much higher percentage of blacks demonstrate prejudice against whites, than the other way around.

The self-serving perpetuation of the "Victocrat" (victim/Democrat) mentality by black leaders like Jessie Jackson, Rev Al Sharpton, and Louis Farrakhan have convinced many in the black community that "we" are conspiring against "them", that they are not responsible for their own plight, and they government will provide for them regardless of their poor choices.

I'm sorry. I got carried away.

As a psychology/sociology professor, I try to bring out these same points. Been called racist, but not by my black friends, by the ultra-liberals "who know what's best for America." As a basic example, look what is available in many countries vs what is available in Western Europe and North (note the north) America.

As long as the dummycrats keep promising and giving something for nothing, to people of any race, things will never change here. Hell, there've been times in my life when I needed help, but I never asked for a freebie. I don't feel as though the government, or anyone, for that matter, owes me anything.

Sounds almost Communist in my opinion! "The fruits of liberation"? I thought they simply won the election, eleven years ago...so much for that Rainbow Nation BS.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

I think if one looks back to the original boer settlers they settled on the poorest of lands, as the black natives would not fight for the poor land but occupied the richests of lands themselves.

If the farmers leave and we stop going. They will back for us and the EU to pay even more bills for them.I fear this is a runaway train about to leave the station.
