I thought some of you may enjoy seeing these. I work for a transportation company & we are handling an estate move for a gentleman who has passed.

The person handling the estate said the man shot this elephant in the 70's. When the salesperson emailed pictures to me from the house asking how we will handle the tusks, I asked where did he shoot this elephant? After a brief pause she replied Africa, I think. Smiler City girls!

I thought it would be prudent to get out of the office for a couple hours today and see them for myself. These are the first tusks I've laid my hands on and was very impressed with them. For scale I'm 6'5" they are mounted on a base approx. 12" tall.

They aren't for sale. They are being delivered to a family member in Colorado. Is it legal to sell sport hunted ivory?

Tana river used to be famous for long slender ivory.

Those are beautiful...but wouldn't they be so much nicer if someone hadn't polished all the stain and character off of them? Magnificent, nonetheless.

They have a great set in Boone & Crocker Club library in Missoula Mt and someone did the same thing and polished all the stains off of them. Must have been fashionable at that time. They are around 7' or a bit more. I'd say close to 80 lbs
