Myself and Charl van Rooyen from Infinito safaris went out scouting hunting properties and camps trough rain, rain and more rain. Where, ever the road was not 100% level and even there was water but have a look yourself.
I also took off my scope on my 375 H&H and it was the first time ever shooting it with open sights. Had to get use to it first but it was fun. The bush is going to be very thick this year and you will have to work for your trophies all in the name of hunting. Were gonna enjoy it, hunting hard is always more rewarding when bagging an animal. thumb

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

Frederik.
I will be in Limpopo (close to the Stockport border crossing) to hunt with Clive Perkins in mid May.
Still lot of dense bush along the river you think?
No 1 target this time is waterbuck and bushbuck.

By the way...very tempting video Smiler

Arild,

Yes, the bush will still be thick but for the creatures your after it shouldnt be a problem the river should still have water and that means that the animals will stay on your side of the river which would be a big advantage.

Just stalk slowly and keep your eyes open and take your time. Enjoy it as we never know when we get so much rain again. thumb

Great to know that you've been blessed with so much moisture. The bush is alive in the video!

I was thinking more about taking my speargun along as a "carry" in the early part of the season.

UEG, you are right, we needed this rain badly, and the bush is ALIVE and vibrant. You can feel it on your skin driving around. Even the fish in the rivers and lakes are not shy, and take any bait presented to them....

The hunting will be hard all over Limpopo and Mpumalanga, but of course very rewarding. I am also pleased to report that in all our hunting areas, all the thousands of acres of it, the animals are very healthy and in good condition...
