Very good advice,as this was my way of thinking also.

I haven't been yet but hope to someday. I would rather have memories of a hunt that still get my heart racing and palms sweaty years later than my name is some book.

Some of my most memorable hunts concluded without a shot being fired.

Good attitude and sort of what I was going to say but as a PH I would have to omit the last sentence.

I would have loved to be on the hunt with JudgeG while stalking buffal among a pride of lions! That one experience would have been enough without even shooting an animal!

When I look at the photos on AR hunt reports I get excited by buffalos with big boss & dugga boys with broomed horns. I also love the kudu that curl the tips out. I am not sure how long some of them are but just the character of the horn is very appealing to me.

The experince is much more important to me. Having said that, you hunt for the older age class animals to match wits with wiser animals and usually that prolongs the hunt and increases the experience. The neat thing is,the older age class animals usually have the highest scores. Not the case with buffalo though. I took a buffalo in Sapi and the PH said it would score well in SCI. I told him the score didn't matter to me. What was my trophy, having my daughter with me on the stalk. She came up and gave me a big hug and I cried like a baby.I will remember that long after I have forgotten the score.
