Trophies are finally done from last year's hunt. Does anyone have advice on shipping company, customs broker, etc.

Closest port is Los Angeles.

Last time I had trophies shipped, there was quite a problem (and many extra dollars) involved in getting them from customs to my possession.

Thank you in advance

Just have them enter the country through New York where John Meehan of Fauna & Flora will get them through customs without incident.

John et al will happily arrange the additional shipping across the country.

The trophies will travel the same distance as if they passed customs in LA, but without the problems.

contact Hunter International Brokerage in San Francisco/Bay area. ask for Maria or Zandra. leave the rest to them. if they enter through NY, you then have to pay a fortune to ship them to Ca.ask me how i know!! trans- continental shipping will cost a lot more than shipping direct to the west coast from RSA.

Mr Voigt

I think the best plan is leave the trophies with me then you can come and watch them every year.

+1 for Maria Europa at Hunter International. If you are on the west coast you want to use a west coast port of entry, not NY.

Yep, import them as close to home (or the tannery) as possible.

Mike,

+ a bunch for Maria Felix. They do not get any beeter than her.

Maria can clear them remotely. She is in the bay area, and cleared my last shipment in LAX no problem.

If you need any tanning or taxidermy work, Golden State tanneries in Turlock CA is to be avoided - unless you really like poor service, evasive answers, and enough running around the block to qualify for a marathon.

You might want to give The Wildlife Gallery a call.

Good luck!

+3...Maria or Zandra at Hunters International is the best on the West Coast!

Thank you much everyone!

I will be in touch with Hunters International and enjoying my trophies soon. Funny part is once this name came up, I remembered using them on a past shipment.

As for my friend Luan,
You owe me some photos of animals with holes on both sides...
