Holly and I had a wonderful hunt with Dirk de Bod of Safaris Namibia last year in April.

I have just finished his website and thought some Forum Members might like to have a look.

In addition to being a terrific PH, Dirk is also an excellent photographer. He sent me over 1,300 photos that he has taken over the years and about 180 of them are on the website.

The address is: www.safarisnamibia.com

There is african music on the Home page and the Contact Us page, and, for those of you who would like to experience the sounds of the african bush, I have used wildlife sounds recorded at a waterhole as the background on all the other pages.

It will take a minute or two on high-speed connections to download and start playing; longer on dial-up connections, but it is worth waiting for!

I hope you enjoy the site!

Mark, great job on the website. I only had one problem: on the section "About Namibia", there is a line that says "see our detailed price list". I was unable to find any link to a price list.

Mike, you're right, thanks for pointing that out. The Price List is not on the website.

In conversations with Dirk he said that he would prefer to have prospective clients contact him and discuss their interests first, then send them a Price List.

He does not have any Package Deals on hunts, photo safaris or sightseeing trips; every trip is individually planned in accordance with the client's interests.

If you would like a copy of his Price List, please send your request to information@safarisnambia.com and I will see that you receive one.

Mark,

Great website. How come Holly is in so many pictures? Big Grin

One suggestion, a map of Namibia (click to enlarge) showing the location of Dirk's hunting areas.

Regards,

Terry

Terry, there is a map of Namibia on the "About Namibia" page that has 4 blue-colored areas. These are Dirk's primary hunting areas.

It's not very prominent though; I'll see if I can add a more detailed map.

Mark,

I saw that map, it is too small to get any detail from it. Maybe I need better reading glasses. Wink

Terry

I spoke with Dirk de Bod yesterday and have some good news to pass along to the African Forum.

He has just finished a safari with Craig Boddington and Jim Maury of Swarovski that was videotaped by Safari Classics Productions for a new African hunting program that will start airing in January of 2006 on the Outdoor Channel.

They have several shows "in the can" so far and will be filming in Africa all summer to get enough footage to produce 23 shows!

So, next year we will all have a new weekly "fix" of African hunting to look forward to!
