I believe this is the company you are referring to and the same one who has taken over the Sengwa concession. Rory Muil is listed as head of field operations and he was my PH on a buffalo hunt in Makuti about ten years ago. I know he was exploring these types of business opportunities even back then. There is no mention on the website about hunting so they are probably keeping it low key and PC so not to potentially offend anyone. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as they are keeping Sengwa a hunting concession and are actively participating in the Climate Change business.

In 2013 I got my first real look at "business" in Africa, every opportunity was directly related to government money (most of it foreign). Social aid programs, infrastructure and rural development programs, climate change programs, all funded by foreign governments and there was a "gold rush" to mine those funds. Is this one in the same? Will carbon offsets and carbon sequestration last? What happens to those selling when those buying are forced to realize they are funding what some consider distasteful? Are the profits realized by leaseholders benefitting land owners?

My best guess is that once the world realizes how expensive and phony our "Climate Change Emergency" is these types of carbon credit programs will disappear. Some people at Carbon Green might sincerely believe they are saving the planet, but I doubt they would be doing it if it wasn't profitable. The connected people with the right connections and politics will make money. Everyone else not so much.

The carbon credit business could potentially generate a lot of money to protect habitat in Africa.
It's a bit of the wild west. While it might be well regulated internationally, not all governments in Africa have kept up, and they often are vulnerable to manipulation. Some people will make a lot of money with carbon credits.

It seem this company to have been set up to "verify and validate REDD+ projects so as to generate Carbon Credits". Seems like a good business plan, if you can set something up, then verify it and validate it yourself.
