I just acquired one of the older BRNO 602s in 375 (factory configuration), and its scratching the cases pretty deeply during cycling, and the last inch of a round is difficult to chamber. Before CZ introduced the 550s in 416 Rigby, I had one built in 416 Rigby on another 602. Ironically, it had the EXACT same problems as noted with the 375 above. Sent it back to the guy that built it, and he polished the feeding ramp It improved it, but never completely corrected it. Question is: does anyone know of a gunsmith that thoroughly knows the inside geometry of these actions? Something must be a little off in these rougher made versions of the early 602s, and I want someone that KNOWS (and is not guessing at) what the problem is capable of properly fixing it on the first go. Thanks, Chris | ||

It sounds to me (from what info you have given) that the edges of the chamber were left sharp and not radiused. If this is the case then you will have scratches running the length of the case from it entering the chamber. The extractor could also be too tight but where this is a factory chambering I doubt this and would suspect the edges of the chamber or belt area. If my suspision is true then a little polishing is all that is needed. In my shop I have not seen many problems on the 602 like you are discribing however I have seen alot of this on Mod. 70s.
