I watched it just a few minutes back. Interesting thing is the guy with the scoped bolt rifle uses the PH's(?) shoulder and the PH grabs the rifle barrel very tight with his hand. Could any of you more experienced gents explain this to me? Thank you.

Robin: I'm as utterly baffled as you are. Seems like a great way to force a muffed shot at a critical moment.

Maybe the PH was just ensuring that he received nothing in the back. The client looked a tad nervous, maybe, just saying ? Roll Eyes

I do not believe his fingers were around the barrel. If you replay over and over you cant see his fingers unwrap from the barrel. I think he was just providing side-support. Earlier in the video the PH did grab the barrel I believe to keep him from sweeping the other guys.

If that was the case, then wouldn't it be easier to train the client first on the do's and don't.

Either way, I am surprised that support was needed for a Lion that close.

It also doesn't really allow flexibility of charging the angle if the charge kept coming - regardless of whether others were also available to take a shot.

I agree completely. I would really like to hear the PH's perspective on this. Also interesting is the fact that since the PH's hand was on the clients rifle, it was not on his own, don't know why that would be a good thing to do.

Agreed. Interesting not quite the word I would use. Intense, maybe, or just plain frightening.

Notice the appy banging in a couple of insurance rounds from his double. Smart guy.
