Beware of doing any business with Ian Cundhill Dodds in Africa. I paid for a lion hunt 2 years ago, and have never received my trophies. He was paid an exorbitant amount for the trophies up front, and Intercon says they never received the money I paid and so are holding them. HELP! Any ideas or suggestions? This is very frustrating. If you have any information regarding Ian or his whereabouts or similar experiences I would love to hear from you. Thanks Glen

He was also mauled by a leopard sometime last year although not seriously! Good luck in resolving your issues. unfortunately, the price one pays for doing business with people that sub-lease the hunting areas....

I would recommend that one always asks "who handles the trophy shipment" when dealing with ph's that sub-lease. Often it is the lease holder and as in this case, if he doesn't get paid then he keeps the trophies....

I met Ian Dodds just after the leopard mauling in the Sea Cliff hotel in Dar. It is always disappointing to learn that someone involved with hunting, and who seems to have a good reputation as a PH otherwise, turns out be less than honest, which seems to be the case. Other AR members have had him as their PH with no problems that I know of.

Mich's advice applies equally well to Zim! been much wailing over some of peter baker's deals here where the concession holder claims he never saw the money- so no trophies out.
