Gentlemen, my son and I leave Aug 15 to hunt in TZ then back into SA for more plains game. Can't wait.

How have things been, going into Jo'berg with rifles and also into Dar? Do you use an expeditor such as Air2000 or Securicor at Jo'berg? Are you using Flora & Flana or Coppersmith? Recommendations?

How is the weather in the Selous? Have the rains continued, hampering the burning? Anyone been in MK1 lately?

Keith,

It might be worth your while to contact Johan Coetzer from Optima Handling at johan.optima@worldonline.co.za . Im directing all my clients to make use of their service to deal with the gun import red tape. Kathi of World Travel got me onto these guys.

Enjoy your safari!

KWTX,
Selous will be hot! I have not been there recently but MK1 should have burnt by now. The rains in that area were normal.

Happy hunting!

You will have smaller amounts of burning by Aug. 15 IMO...Its not quite dry enough for the big burns at least in the last few years...Sept, Oct give you some great burns..but you should have enough burning to have some nice grass coming up in smaller amounts and that's not all bad as sometimes the big burns make stalking difficult....with a smaller plot you can skirt the timber and get closer....

I like August and I don't mind July at all, it adds an additional challange to the hunt, and everyone gets their bull anyway..High grass does not make Buffalo disapear into the sky...trust me they are still there...I love the high grass, I have shot my best bulls in that stuff, its where they live.
