Reading Martin Johnson's "Safari" and thought you folks might enjoy this picture of one of their safari cars.

Some info on the cars:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willys-Knight

"Seven Willys-Knight vehicles including two large trucks and a touring car were used on the Martin and Osa Johnson photographic safari in the remotest areas of Africa."

Regards

A couple of great pics there....... I don't know if the early vehicle manufacturers made use of the advertising opportunities that must have been available when their products were used in Africa but if they didn't, they missed some golden opportunities.

Check the 5th clip down here to see what GREAT ads Dodge Trucks could have made use of. Eeker

Very kind of you to say so.... thanks! tu2

The site is now well over 800 pages and still growing and it's paid for by the affiliate book sales and other affiliates etc...... So thanks to everyone who buys books & DVDs etc from the site! tu2

It doesn't pay us as much as we'd like but more or less pays for itself, gives us a lot of fun and we hope, helps a lot of our fellow hunters! Smiler

Although this was a photographic safari, this is what they took along with them - just for emergencies!

Must have needed 1 truck as a dedicated weapons and ammo carrier!

The only one I've seen is the link I posted but it's good to hear at least one company took advantage of the opportunity..... you wouldn't know if any of the ads are available for online viewing by any chance would you?
