Bull Elephant & Cape Buffalo combo
I have just been advised that a combination Bull Elephant (30 lbs) and mature (hard boss) Cape Buffalo hunt in the Greater Kruger Nat'l Park area has become available. This is an all inclusive hunt with the exception of the usual: airfare, personal items, dip/pack/taxidermy, gratuities). Dates are to be set between the hunter and Outfitter (Infinito Safaris)but is time sensitive. For anyone that had to cancel another hunt, this may be the opportunity for you to hunt two of the Big 5. Duration of hunt is 10 days. Cost is $45,000 USD. Contact me if you have any questions. Good hunting, David

More details:
A new hunting area has opened in the Greater Kruger National Park. There is on license, 1- Elephant bull with about 30 lb tusks and one hard bossed Cape Buffalo bull. This is an exclusive opportunity to hunt one of the best hunting areas in Africa. Take note that this hunt is IN the Greater Kruger Park, and there are no fences. The booking is for 10 days, and the all inclusive price for this once in a lifetime hunt, is $45,000.00 for one person.
It is possible for two people to share the hunt, but we will have to revise the price a little bit. The same goes for any observers that might join the hunting party.

Isn't this hunt next to Kruger in one of the reserves where the fences are down? I have never heard of anyone hunting in Kruger itself with the exeception of the park rangers that are allowed to cull, etc, and have not heard that regular hunters are now allowed to hunt there. I was just there two weeks ago and discussed this matter with parks personnel. Thanks in advance for the update.

dogcat: Dates are open but time sensitive.

UEG: My initial thoughts as well, but I'm only repeating what I was told to offer. Greater Kruger. It is from my understanding a special permit and restricted to 30 lb bull and mature Buff (40" hard boss class) but there was no mention of plains game etc. Hunt can be for two: 1x Elephant, 1x Buffalo. Good hunting, David

...just curious, why would someone pay $45,000 for a ten day hunt for a non-trophy elephant, and a buffalo?

Why not do 16 days for the same two critters in Zim for about half as much money?

There must be something magical about hunting in Kruger that I don't understand.

I agree completely, sounds like a rip off to me.

Some people who are skeered to go to Zim will pay the extra bucks. I however, am not one of them.

You said it; some want to do what isn't the norm. The chance to hunt in Greater Kruger is the catch. I don't price them, just offer them. Personally, I doubt I would ever kill an Elephant. I'd rather hunt big cats, big buffalo, croc, hippo and plains game. But I respectfully admire those that chase Jumbo. It takes a special kind of hunter to walk for days on end, passing up smaller Elephant than their personal minimum. I am awed by their size and power, but prefer to hunt other game. I'll be glad to hook anyone up for Zim Elephant. How big do you want? Good hunting, LDK
