The Trump saga has raised a lot of chatter on the social networks and in the South African media. Most of it ill informed and nauseating.

It appears that PHASA have stepped up to the plate

Dear Network Member,
We have been advised that Adri Kitshoff of PHASA will take part in two radio interviews as follows:

1) East Coast Radio: tomorrow Wednesday 28 March 2012 between 6 and 9am. If you want to listen but live outside the area you can listen via the internet on www.ecr.co.za (click On Air; and click again on Listen Live). Please note we do not have an exact time.
On one of his morning programs last week, DJ Darren Maule of East Coast Radio made a lot of negative and slanting remarks towards hunters and hunting in general. This interview is as a result of these comments.

2) SAFM: on Thursday 29 March 2012 between 9 and 10pm, to discuss the role of Hunting in Conservation. Who else will be interviewed is not yet known and exactly what time in the program PHASA will have a slot is also unknown at present.

Good reaction!

When, oh when will the hunting industry learn to be proactive? Attack and proactiveness is simply so much better than being good at being reactive!

Best of luck to Adri in any case!

After a few years of participation on forums, I have learned that:

One can cure:

Lack of knowledge – by instruction. Lack of skills – by practice. Lack of experience – by time doing it.

One cannot cure:

Stupidity – nothing helps! Anti hunting sentiments – nothing helps! Put-‘n-Take Outfitters – money rules!

My very long ago ancestors needed and loved to eat meat. Today I still hunt!

can someone please tell me why SA has multyiple authorities for issuing PH licences & keeping a register? Would it not be better for the industry & for our sport if there was one central and standardised process / agency?

For f#*k's sake Naki, this is f#&king Africa. In order to give all your "freedom fighter mates" an over inflated salary, you create as many employment posts as possible. Therefore nine provinces now when the crappy whites only had four. That means nine of everything, from director generals to cleaning staff. Job creation, African Socialist Style. AND, it sure as hell does not mean nine times improvement. Just a manyfold expense to the taxpayer as instead of one deputy director, there can be two to four. As a further example, in the bad old days, there used to be one white women who did the Cites Permits for the Eastern Cape, now there is an office-full. moon

It was good!

They gave Adri time (bit short) to talk and have her say, personally i think she was brilliant and even the DJ had no quirky remarks. When they questioned her on the dodgy ethics of some of the professionals she admitted that like Doctors, Lawyers, Electricians, Plumbers etc there are those who lack integrity and ethics; but it is not just limited to professional hunters!
