I've only seen one. It was a .450 N.E. 3 1/4". It was very lightweight and a pleasure to hold, but.... and this is a very big "but"... It slugged .454 instead of .458. Mbogo375 and I drooled over it, but shooting it with .458 bullets, especially Woodleigh solids with the steel interliner, seemed risky to us, so we passed on it even though the price right. (But appreciably more than the $3k Snakelover quoted. I think that's a low figure???)

I'd make sure to slug the bore of the .470. Also, I'd hope the rifle weighted more than the .450 did, which, if I remember correctly, was somewhat less than 9 lbs. Correct me if I'm wrong, Jim???

If the gun is in 80-90% condition, the 2004 Blue Book lists value of $3K - $3300. 95% moves the number up to over $4K.

Since you have 2 states listed as your home, you'll have to clarify which state this gun is in for us to hazzard a guess as to the asking price. My guess is that it will be higher priced if the store is located between Richmond and DC, than say Blacksburgh, VA or southern Idaho.

A local shop has in stock a 470 made in Belgium for Continental Arms of NY. The gun(metal) is in good shape and the wood in so-so shape. Trying to find out anything about them to establish value. Will wait for a few responses to tell you what he's asking. Thanks, Baxter
