Anyone received their copy yet? I had another e-mail from Harald today that the Zim issue had been sent but I haven't seen it.

Hi Russell, me neither - but I can't wait. Anybody get theirs? 1/23 Edit - Mine arrived in today's mail.

1/16/05 EMAIL FROM HAROLD:
Dear Readers
Hatari Times # 20 (Zimbabwe up-dated) went on the mail in December and hopefully every subscriber received his copy in the meantime. If you attend the SCI-Convention in Reno, please stop at my booth # 1165. I am sharing booth with Buffalo Safaris Australia again. See you in Reno.
Best regards
Harald Wolf

I was thinking of posting the same question....

I ordered a subscription from Harald at the 2005 SCI convention and only received one issue.

I think it's time to shoot Harald an email... I hope all is well...

Regards,
Dave

I usually just call him, I don't like his system but he makes a nice magazine.

He told me that he was going to start doing things a little different this year. Maybe trying to stay on schedule.

That and he is going to get some more gunsmiths and start building guns full time.

I think I only received one issue for the whole of 2005 ???

I really do think he needs to publish according to a more stable schedule.

I also have no idea where I am up to in my subscription?

Hey guys I just received my copy today. I would have thought those on the East coast would have seen them already.

I am glad Harald go to print when he feels the magazine is ready according to his high standards.

If he had to meet a deadline the quality would suffer.

I could go on a rant about the quality of the monthly magazines I subscribe to but......

I recieved Issue #20 today. I think that's the only one this year. I will say I will keep renewing as I think he is a nice guy and does produce an excellant magazine even if not on a regular schedule. This is by far the best issue I have read, probably because I'm familiar with Zimbabwe. This is the best and most accurate appraisal of the country I've seen in any hunting magazine. It's coincidental that while I was glancing thru it Tony Snow was hosting the O'Rielly show and discussing dictators and Mugabe was right up front. Wolf also built what I believe to be the perfect heavy. It looked like an old Krag carbine with short barrel, upper handguard and all. I think it was in 404 Jeffery and maybe the one he refers to in this issue. He is also a very entertaining writer.

Issue #20 came up here in Montana territory yesterday. I'm sure he got a lot of questions about where the magazine was when he set up in Reno. I look forward to reading it. Harald only publishes when he has something to say and I can apprecitate that. Along with the whold AR forums, I get a lot of information and entertainment from Hatari Times. I have been dropping mass circulated outdoor magazines quite a lot lately. Just a wast of time with the same old, " I used this stuff, was guided by this outfitter, ate real good food, and killed just what I wanted on the last hour of the last day", boring stuff.

Mine came while I was at the SCI Convention. I visited with Harold. He is really avery nice person. He has two problems. One is that he is essentially a one man show with his magazine. The other is that the magazine is printed in Singapore and he has experienced a lot of problems with shipping. I asked him why he did not consider having it printed in the United States as African Hunter did. He said that he is going to have to do something different.I agreed with him.

Folks, I just learned of and subscribed to Hatari Times. Was there an issue devoted to Mozambique? If so, which issue was it? Thanks.

I wonder what's wrong with Hatari English Edition???

JB,
I know what you mean. I don't mind if it's late, or published irregularly, but when some are receiving copies weeks before, I just wonder what happened to mine. At least we're in the same boat Smiler

BTW - is the French edition a translated version of the International Edition? Does it have any different content?

cheers,
- stu

Stuart,

Yes the french edition is a translated version of the International Edition. The french translator, a bowhunter next door, is not this good. I was tempted to offer Harald Wolf to translate the magazine for free.

I think there is a German Edition too. After all, Harald Wolf is a German.
