I'd also recommend Masailand but you need to choose carefully where in Masailand. Some areas are great and others are ummmm, not so good. As Mike says close to the rains which means at either end of the season.

Luke Samaras and Adam Clements both come to mind. I have been privilaged to hunt africa on nine safaris with some good outfits. My bucket list includes a buff hunt with Luke or Francois in Masailand in late season. (dec) I would also like to pursue leopard with Shakari wherever he thinks is best in early season, in the dark phase of the moon. Since you said big buff, Luke is legendary. JMO Adrian

B. Watson, The best chance to have an opportunity at a great buffalo is in Masailand. Our areas Lokisale and Lobo cover over 95% of the eastern unfenced boundary of Tarangire park. The hunting can be phenominal and our stats are mind blowing but it still is hunting and not everyone will shoot a 45" buffalo. Mark MARK H. Another vote for Adam Clements Safari Trackers and Tanzania, Block 1 & 2 if possible. If you want to get specific, I recomend Wayne Clark, or Zambezi Hunterts with Zayne Vandemyier I lknow I murdered his lat name. Two great guides. Zayne was my PH on a 2002 hunt in Tanz for a 46 In. Just to add fuel to this fire. Last year I saw a cow in Tarangerie that had to go at least 50 inches (she had over a foot of horn past her ears on each side). Didn't get a pic because my camera spools up to slow Have gun- Will travel The value of a trophy is computed directly in terms of personal investment in its acquisition. Robert Ruark

I've been on a dozen safaris across Africa and big buff can literally be found anywhere but the odds are probably better in Masailand, Tanzania. I hunted Lobo and Lolkisale before Adam Clements ended up with the area. We timed for the rains in November but they were late. All four of the hunters in my party got bulls with the biggest going 46". My bull had good drop and measured 40" which is a great buff but you always hope for a monster. None of us got the two bulls in the package but that was due to the outfitter, another story. However, look at Safari Tracker's website and check hunting reports filed on www.huntingreports.com and Hunt Reports on AR. Also, Danny Macallum's outfit is quite good. Ask to hunt with Gerard Miller. One of my good buddies is a buff freak and hunts exclusively with Gerard. His buff collection is stunning! You will pay more, but you know the adage... On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died. I believe the correct URL to check hunting reports for Safari Trackers is www.huntingreport.com If you use the plural, you end up in the wrong place.
