This hunt is being conducted in an area called Vuti near Karoi and the PH is Ben Kotze. This is the same area where we do the PAC elephant. Those are the only 2 species we have permits for in this area. The PG hunting is also near Karoi on private property with good numbers of PG remaining. We can hunt that property from the Vuti camp or relocate if several back to back days of PG hunting were desired. Any tag-on DG hunt would be in Dande N or Chewore N, after the leopard hunt was done. We have buffalo quota remaining in those areas for this season.

I hunted with Ben this past May/June for PAC elephant and Buff (successfully I might ad). We didn't hunt in the Vuti area, but I can say without a doubt that Ben is a top notch PH and I hope to hunt with him again in the near future.

Several folks have asked about adding a buff hunt. The daily rate for any follow-on buff hunt is $800 in Dande N, min days 7, trophy fee $2500. So $8100 plus govt levy, dip and pack and medevac. Total for the leopard/buff 14+1 day combo is thus $15400 incl. trophy fees for one leopard and one buffalo bull, and one transfer day.

Ben says he can also do a Leopard/Ele combo in Doma 14 days at $650 per day plus trophy fees. This would have to be after Oct 12.

The Vuti Leopard hunt is spoken for. This is the hunt we will video. Our client will take some plains game as well on this hunt, Sable and Eland. Hopefully he will report here that it was successful and if so we will have some great video as well.

Ben still has 3 leopard permits for the Doma area for this year, so we are extending the same offer with the exception of the dates being more flexible, anytime after Oct 12 will be fine with Ben. And we won't be able to video the hunt(s). There are also some good Sable in the Doma area and a bull elephant or a buff is a possibility as well. Tuskless cows have for the most part moved out of this area at this point in the year, to lower ground adjacent (Mukwichi). We have access there as well but hard to cover both areas from the same camp. So for those wanting tuskless, we would do that hunt and then move to Doma proper for the leopard.

Pickup/dropoff at HRE is included in the day rates, we count the first day not the last. So you would hunt 7 evenings. Neither area is too long of a haul from HRE, half day max. If you arrive 9 pm, you stay in a private lodge in Harare at $80, that day doesn't count.

Lousy. We had a leopard on bait the first night. Ate only a piece of the intestine though, these were hung on the tree next to the bait. Strange indeed. So we decided no blind, let him eat in peace to get his confidence up. Second night both a male and a female visited, one or both ate the front leg and neck. Third night (with hunter in blind and everyone confident) no leopard. Fourth night same deal, leopard never came back to that bait. No leopards at any of the other 3 baits either. However, client did take a 42" sable and a monster eland which we didn't measure but PH says it's the biggest he has ever seen. He also had the opportunity to attempt a PAC bull at night but declined due to a bad ankle. By morning they were gone, leaving a patch of banana plants torn up and some very big tracks (five bulls)>

We did get video of the prior hunts, ie buffalo hunt, and also a tuskless/hippo/croc hunt.

Will take a while to boil 6 hours of video down to one DVD.

Does the video go to press this year or can it wait to add Spots? You really should have him on it too since you have gone to all of the trouble.
