This from The Dallas Morning News: The Dallas Safari Club is no stranger to threats. Look no further than January 2014, when it auctioned off a permit to hunt a black rhinoceros “For rhino conservation efforts in Namibia.” The DSC and the winner of the auction — Dallas hunter Corey Knowlton, who killed the rhino last May — both received death threats. “I had personal threats on my life, my family’s life,” says Ben Carter, the Dallas Safari Club’s executive director. “Corey did too. He’s actually had to hire security for months because he’s got a couple of little kids and was truly worried if one of these nuts would actually do what they said. It’s terrorism, and you have to decide if you’re going to live your life or hide somewhere to avoid it. But most of our people are going to stand up and fight for what we believe in. You can’t be bullied or threatened when you’re talking about what we know is the most effective way to save wildlife, which is through hunting. Hunting is the best management for wildlife.” But last week, another threat appeared on the Dallas Safari Club’s Facebook page that Carter found especially troubling — so much so he says he’s reached out to the FBI and the Farmers Branch Police Department, which confirms that it has added extra patrols around the organization’s Gamma Road headquarters in recent days. Says one officer, “We haven’t had any problems so far.” Carter isn’t taking any chances. This post, penned by one “Peshotan Pavri” and posted to the Dallas Safari Club’s Facebook page August 7, is the reason why: “Dumb Nimrods!” it begins. “You idiots have no respect or understanding for nature, which is why I won’t bother explaining. I will fight to shut down your disgustingly immoral witchcraft & more importantly the manner in which you carry out what you do & when it is done. I will complete the past. I will come right to your Dallas Safari Club with an AK47 & a grenade and wipe the whole lot of you out!” Click to enlarge the threatening Facebook post received by the Dallas Safari Club Carter says he asked Facebook to remove the post, only to be told no. “We were concerned only that Facebook, which presents itself as a viable medium for people to participate in, thinks it’s OK that someone can get on there and threaten a whole office full of people because of a policy we have,” Carter says. “Facebook said it does not violate any of their community standards. I wonder what their standards are.” Late Thursday, Facebook acknowledged that it erred when refusing to pull the comment. “As our team processes millions of reports each week, we occasionally make a mistake,” said a statement sent to The Dallas Morning News. “In this case, we should have removed this content, and we apologize for that. As always, we encourage people who are worried about their personal safety to contact law enforcement.” “The FBI cannot confirm or deny the existence of an investigation,” says Allison Mahan, public affairs specialist for the FBI’s Dallas office. “That being said, we take seriously any threat of a violent act and will work with law enforcement partners to respond accordingly.” Says Carter, they’re used to the threats, sure, but this one felt different. For one, it wasn’t tied to any specific event — perhaps, he says, it has something to do with the shooting of Cecil the lion in Africa by an American dentist who’s been the recipient of countless death threats himself in recent weeks. And this one threatened the entire office. “And I don’t mind talking about it, because I think that’s the only way we get the message out,” Carter says. “Eighty percent of the population doesn’t have a strong opinion on hunting, and I want to make sure they understand the big picture when it comes to those who do. There are a lot of strange people out there. You want to assume they’re just talking, but in this crazy world you can’t make that assumption. And the way it was said makes me think that’s a pretty disturbed person.” Karl Evans

Anyone wants to guess that DSC getting the FBI involved had anything to do with this?? The people running FB are no different than those running any media outlet - all they care about is themselves. What we would really like to know is what has the FBI done to the criminal who made these threats??

They don't do anything to illegal Mexicans who kill people here what makes you think they will do anything to a jerk who just makes death threats? Part of the reason I always carry at least one gun these days! Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers to do incredibly stupid things- AH (1941)- Harry Reid (aka Smeagle) 2012 Nothing Up my sleeves but never without a plan and never ever without a surprise!
