I hunted K4 this season, and there are plenty of buffalo to go around!
There's also a good number of old dugga-boy bulls that live by themselves, or else with one or two other bulls, and I like hunting bulls of this sort the best. You won't be disappointed with the buffalo hunting, espcially if you get out and really hunt for old trophy bulls.
The lion situation is not good at all. I heard lions at night on occasion, and we'd find the remains of their kills, as well as their tracks on the roads, but I never saw a single living, breathing lion, and as I understand the situation, older trophy males are very, very scarce. From what I saw (rather DIDN'T see), I believe that to be the case.
But K4 has LOTS of buffalo, some huge male leopards; quite a few hyena; many, many hippo; thousands of hartebeest and zebra; good numbers of impala; a fair number of wildebeest; numerous warthogs and crocs; superb, widely-distributed reedbuck and duikers, plus scattered specimens of kudu, eland, and sable. One of the biggest eland bulls I've ever seen anywhere was in K4 this season.
Oh, and there are PLENTY of tsetse flies to go around as well!
