Ladies and Gentlemen, This was the first buffalo we shot this year. We got lucky and caught them resting in a dry river bed. We sneaked up to them, and saw the whole herd. Mostly lying down, but some were standing. As usual, there were eyes open in every direction. We could see a number of mature bulls we could shoot, but, each had either one in front of him or behind him. And with our Walterhog bullets, we had to be carefull not to shoot in herds where the bullet might excit and wound another one. Eventually this old bull started walking towards us, offering a frontal shot. Afetr getting a 300 grain Walterhog bullet into his chest, he ran off with the rest of the herd into the grass. After the herd has gone, we followed his tracks and found him lying dead about 80 yards from where he was shot.

Saeed, The photos that I have seen thus far from your hunt appear to be excellent. I am curious to hear your thoughts on the battery of cameras that your party took to the Selous. Thanks for sharing your experiences on safari with us.
