Ladies and Gentlemen,

We have booked a 21 day hunt for next August in Tanzania - probably in Mahingi (spelling?) - with Alan Vincent.

For those who have not heard of Alan before; he is the son of my very good friend Roy Vincent, with whom we have hunted in Zimbabwe many times before.

I have known Alan since he was little kid, when I first hunted with Roy in 1984. Walter calls him the Vincent off-spring - with the emphasis on the OFF part, as Alan, like the rest of us, enjoys making Walter's life as miserable as possible roflmao

Roy had a rather raw deal from some of Mugabe's underlings, and lost his concession in Matetsi, hence he and his son decided to go hunt in Tanzania.

In the past couple of years, as most of you know, we have hunted with Ray and Pierre in Tanzania. I have absolutely the highest regards for both Ray and Pierre - and I am glad I had the opportunity to meet and hunt with them. I consider them both as very close friends, and would of course hunt with them without any hesitation whatsoever. And would recommend them to anyone who wishes to have a great hunt.

I just thought I would add this in here, as I am sure someone will write and ask why we are not hunting with Ray and Pierre.

No reason for it whatsoever, except the fact to supporting a family we have hunted with for so many years, and consider them as very close friends indeed.

In fact, if they did not loose their place in Zimbabwe, we would have never hunted in Tanzania in the first place.

Funny how circumstances change what we do.

If it was not for the Vincents, I cannot imagine us hunting in Tanzania with anyone else but Ray and Pierre.

The hard part start now. As usually happen, so many people want to go on this hunt, and Walter has to make the decision who he wishes to have accompany him - at least HE thinks he makes the decision, as he is the one who gives the cards to all the would-be hunters! He sends a black card to those who are going, and a red card to those who have not made the "cut" as he calls it. And no one is allowed to ask why.

I will be taking my usual rifles, the two built on the Dakota 76 action, chambered for our own 375/404, and loaded with our own lathe turned, Walterhog bullets.

I have been using these rifles for so many years with the Barnes 300 grain X bullets with great success. And in the past couple of years with our Walterhog bullets, again without a single failure.

So far, the only person who has ever complaied about these rifles is Walter. He thinks they kick too much. But, what does one expect from a wimp who worships a 7x64, in a Blaser nut

Sounds like a good time Saeed. And don't worry about Pierre, 30ott6 and I booked a 21 day safari with him, so where you left off, we'll pick-up. I'm sure it will be a relief for Pierre not to have Walter in camp!

Saeed,

I'm sure you guys will have a great time as always.

And I'm glad to see that you will be helping some of those that have had problems under Mugabes dictatorship. thumb

Loyalty is a great virtue. I can assure you that Pierr'e is most thankful for your patronage and great reports. I think he's already booked a substantial part of of 2006 and your reports and videos are a big part of the reason. (For those of you looking for plains game, Pierr'e has a great concession in RSA where 1115 and I hunted in June. Ray Atkinson will set you up.)

What are the dates for your safari? ...so we folks on AR can build some anticipation with you.... and I (and 1115 and Russell Taylor) can make sure we can get our Tanzania buffs before ya'll shoot them all up!

And... now I know why I get "red" cards in the mail. But does Walter have to send half-a-dozen every day. Frowner

I'm writing this looking at the AR calendar. Your idea of changing it some this year to have flora and fauna was a good one. The pictures are really beautiful and just make me more eager to get back to my chair infront of the fire and listening to hippos rumble and blow!

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

JudgeG my friend, the dates have not beenm finalized yet, but as close to the 15 of August as we can get them. As soon as We have a definite date set, I will let you all know.

We will try to set up some sort of report back to the forums from there as we did last year, if internet access is not viable.

The photos on the AR calendar were chosen by Walter - he said he wanted to avoid looking at my face "every bloody month"!

He has given his calendar to one of his friends, and asked me for another one. Now you have given me an idea, I will change the pictures on the one I will print for him!

Will,

We have 17 buffalo on license jump

Best of luck on your trip and it's good to hear that the Vincents are re-established in the Mecca of African big game hunting, Tanzania.

I am still trying to organize something for myself and my wife this season.

As for giving absolute power to your Grand Vizier, I hope you will forgive me for questioning your judgment.

Of course, I could be wrong. But I am basing my opinion on various reports I have seen here, most authored by you, regarding Walter's questionable choice of clothing, rifles, quasi-religious rituals and other matters of taste. How can his judgment of people be any better?

And as for hunting, I recall having seen numerous reports of his abysmally poor marksmanship and questionable gun handling, up to and including published photographs of a rather nasty self-inflicted gunshot wound. Does anyone really want to be in a hunting camp with this fellow wandering around in make up and a negligee toting a loaded Blaser R93?

Tell the truth: The red cards are trading at a premium, aren't they?

Saeed,
I nominate mrlexma for a black card. He could give Walter a break now and then with some standup comedy routines between fashion shows.

They'll probably be snow boarding in hell before I have any ideas why I might deserve one, but if nominated, I shall accept. boohoo

I'm meeting up with Alan tomarrow here in Vegas, to see what he came up with for me in Reno. i think I'm going twice this year.

Sadly I didnt make it to Africa in 2004 because I had to stay closr to home because of my mom's health problems. She is in the final stages of cancer. Its been a long year.

sorry about the spelling,
I missed that class.

I hear Walter's going bribery rate is five days as his personal slave. Only a single day if you agree to be his bath slave. (now where is that photo of Walter in his special bath ????)

Ah here it is:

This is the best part! Maggots started coming out of the skulls, and Walter was not too impressed with the smell. In fact, he came out of the bath smelling MUCH worse than when he went in!

"17 buffalo" - Wow!

Saeed,
In addition to the 17 buffalo, the 21-day license in Tanzania gives you the opportunity to hunt a lot of other great trophies. What else is on your list?

I am not sure about the details of their arrangement. They have always hunted together.

And a wonderful time will be had by all!

We really enjoyed the video records we've seen from the trips. I can almost imagine how much fun they really are.

Wishing you all the best possible trip.

Saeed,
As you well know, Pierre and I are forever gratefull for the years you hunted with us and that both Allan and Roy rate very high in our friendship book and I particularly enjoyed them on our hunt, Roy is a cornacopia of African culture and Allan can outtrack the best of trackers, your certainly in good hands and with good friends. Thanks again and be seeing you in the future...I have Pierre booked up into 2006 and completely full for 2005 as of today I think, so all is well on both ends...My house is your house.

I also appreciate all the good words from those on AR that have hunted with us and that is no small number and we will try to uphold the standard of hunts that we have set for you...Again my house is your house. but please no more birthday parties, its scaring me by the numbers.
