Whose the best outfitter and where is the best area to hunt Buffalo in Tanzania? Money is no object but expect value for $ spent. Objective is to hunt Buff rich enviornment with quality PH and outfitter during the cooler time of season. Opinions from experience please.

MUFASA, Thanks for the input, other hunters agree it is one of the best areas and safari companies.

Adam Clements is killing some great bulls in Lolkisale and Lobo Serritt in Masailand. I hunted those areas in 2003 when Ridge Taylor was operating there and my buddy killed a solid 46"er.... several others on these forums, HughW and ForrestB have killed fantastic buff there also.

I'd fall in line an also recommend Lolkisale with Adam Clements.

You cannot go wrong with Tanzania Bundu safaris and Adam Clements in Lobo or Lolkisale. I was there in July of '06 and saw a legitamate 48" in the salt from Lobo and got a 45"from Lolkisale and that was not the biggest Buff I saw. Adam or Mark can give you the stats. I believe they had a stalk on a 50", but it was not successful. I was shooting a full bag of cats and did not have Buff as my main focus. Put your time in and I believe you cannot go wrong.

Have any of you hunted Lobo or Lolksale in August? I was impressed with them when we spoke at SCI.

Many Thanks

I hunted there in August of 2002. We had good hunting then and I shot two buffalo. I was also able to take a Grants, impala and a zebra. Due to improvements made since then, I think it is even better now.

The best buff areas in Tz are Eastern Tarangire (about 3-4 concessions to choose from) and Maswa Game Reserve (4 concessions). Best operators, in terms of value for $, that operate in those blocks in my order of preference:
TGT - Maswa
Bundu - Eastern Tarangire
TBGS - Maswa and Eastern Tarangire
RHS - Maswa Makao
Luke samaras - Eastern Tarangire

You will need to book well in advance to get a July date with the above.

Bwanamich, Thanks again for your help. I'm narrowing my research down. It's alot tougher than I thought to get solid info. Many of the operators just want to fill spots not meet the customers needs. Your time is appreciated. George
