Hi Guys Time is a premium to me and I cannot take more that seven days on safari. With a few execptions mainly in Zim or RSA, most outfitters tend to offer only 10 day plus hunts for Buffalo. Next year I want to hunt Buffalo in either Mozambique or Botswana but only for a maximum of seven days. Any ideas who might offer such a short buffalo hunt? ------------------------------ Richard VENARI LAVARE LUDERE RIDERE OCCEST VIVERE

Most company's will do seven or eight day Buff hunts but the fees will be higher to keep the profit margin worth while. Two hunter after my recent hunt (returned two days ago with www.kambakosafaris.com ) shot theirs on day one of their Safaris. I would have too if I had seen the 44+" bull that one guy killed.

Deerdogs, you might check with Freischuetz, who posts on this forum. He has a concession in Mozambique. I booked a 7 day hunt with him a couple of years ago, and got my buff at the end of the second day.

I just did the Bahati hunt this year and it is an INCREDIBLE experience. Beautiful country, lots of Buffalo/game. Shot a nice buff on day three. Also took a great reed buck and a nice chobe bushbuck.

Vaughn Fulton (Classic Safaris) has 7-day buffalo hunts in the Caprivi. I just got back from one, realizing that I have finally found something that can motivate me to work some overtime...so I can go back. John

Mr. Boddington, I am more or less in the same boat as Deerdogs. I have been looking for a Moz. hunt myself, but being a first timer buff hunter, I wonder if the conditions in Moz. are good enough for a first timer. I've heard that you will probably have to shoot into herds that are often obscured by high vegatation. What is your opinion on this subject. Thanks, Ron

Guys, Johan Strasheim/Bahati has loads of buffalo on Coutada 10. Often the buffalo is taken very early in the hunt as there are so many finding a good one is not that difficult. I'll be on the Zambezi delta with Johan in a few days and will do a full report on my return. I believe he may be the best choice if time is a primary factor in choosing a buffalo hunt. Mark MARK H. Mr. Boddington, sorry to ask a non-related question but I saw you on an outdoor channel the other day hunting in Africa. I can't remember the details of the hunt but I did notice that someone had accidentally installed the bolt on the wrong side of your rifle. Did you notice this? Seriously, I have a sister that is left handed and frankly she has had a tough time of it. From some seriously strict nuns in parochial school, to simple things like handshakes she has always felt just a bit out of sync. I'd be interested in your thoughts on hunting gear for left handed hunters. Is it as big a problem as it appears to be? Do most manufacturers make an attempt to accomodate left handers? Thanks, josh

Check out the Lefties Forum here on the boards. I have seven different brands of left handed rifles. having been there, i wholeheartedly agree! i didn't hunt buff but i spent time in the area where they are found and a 7 day, unfenced buff hunt is pretty much a slam dunk. also the price is very reasonable for the experience you will get. contact Buzz or Myles at CM Safaris. They can do you right up, as they offer standard 8-day Buffalo packages. I went with them two weeks before Christmas on nine days notice, and got a marvelous bull. Rich DRSS

Rich, Sorry to say, but I contacted Buzz of CM Safaris, the other day. He offers only 10 days buffalo hunts. Maybe things have changed since your last hunt with them. Ron

Deerdogs Would you be interested in a Buffalo cull hunt, still waiting on details but I just got a notification for some buff. Its a property that I know well in Northern KZN, 55000 acres and has not been hunted much in the past. There is another one on a smaller property in Limpopo, 14000 acres and apparently they took a 40 and 44" hard bossed bull off this year. One left for the season so let me know if you are interested. References are available for both properties. Chat soon Ian

I just got back from Zim on 9-16 on a 7 day buffalo hunt with PH Nixon Dzingai of SSG Safaris. I haven't had time to post yet in the hunting report but here are my two. I hunt, not to kill, but in order not to have played golf.... DRSS

Is Zambia an option for you? There are a few guys who only run 7-day hunts in Zambia, they do not offer 10-day hunts. It can be done for about $13,000 with trophy fee from Lusaka. Includes transfer to camp, gov fees, Buffalo trophy fees, license dip and pack etc. Don't let Zambia scare you away thinking it is expensive, when it is actually quite reasonable.
